Halifax increase counter withdrawal limit by over 100%

I recently noticed a sign in my local Halifax branch that says the maximum cash withdrawal (which doesn't require any notice) has increased from £1200 to £2500. Not sure if it's related to the fact that my branch recently underwent a refurbishment and got an extra counter position installed.

Any idea what prompted this welcome change? I would say the Lloyds merger but LTSB don't seem to even advertise their limit...

..because there isn't one (subject to levels of cash). The Halifax limit was increased as a result of a staff feedback forum during the initial counter implementation of the LTSB system.

Nope, it applies to all branches.

This is very limiting. My bank allows me to withdraw any amount so long as I order before.

    As does Halifax.

£2500 is now the amount you can take without any notice

being a cashier of said bank, I can just imagine the chaos in my branch as our safe space is very limited.... and we never kept a large float before.

    So does Halifax!

And therefore your bank must be limited if you have to order it before also.

Those 2 statements contradict each other. The OP was talking about the limit imposed, at above which you are required to give prior notice for a cash withdrawal.

Your first statement suggests that your bank requires you to give prior notice for any amount.

Your second statement says there is a limit of £5000, above which prior notice is required.
