Aluminium or uPVC windows?

Has anyone had experience/could recommend an Aluminium double glazing firm? Or system of Aluminium windows?
(I know a good local uPVC firm and would have no hesitation using them, and I think uPVC is a good product in the right place, but feel this is not the right place)
I have a 'project' in my back garden that is 40ft high, and I have just got planning permission to put windows all around the top. I'd love to use wood, but practically (painting/maintenance) I don't think wood is an option. I don't want to have to pay for scaffolding every time I paint the wood.
Any help greatly appreciated.

My parents' former neighbours have been in DG for decades (family firm). They have moved over to aluminium products from uPVC over the last decade. I went down to their office last autumn and thought their windows looked great. They are more expensive than uPVC but last proportionately longer.
Their website is http://www.clivnars.co.uk/index.html but they are part of a larger network of firms using the same SAPA windows. I don't know whether the network has a local office to you, or whether they do domestic installations, but it might be worth contacting them for onward contacts if nothing else.0
