Office 2010, outlook and email settings

Hello
Yesterday i loaded office 2010 onto my PC, at the time my outlook seemed to be working fine, but today it will send emails but not receive them.
Initially it wouldn't send emails but i've sorted that problem (linked to the sky user smtp issue) but i still can't receive emails.
When it shows the progress it looks like it is receiving 19 emails then it just stops.
the error message i'm getting is

Task 'pop.freeserve.com - Receiving' reported error (0x80040154) : 'Unknown Error 0x80040154'

i would be really grateful for any help. I did some updates yesterday as it asked me to so i'm wondering if this is the problem.

Try a 'Detect & Repair' on Outlook. Otherwise try a reinstall.
It appears to be an unknown installation/registry error.
