cheap weekend in las vegas?

Hi,
I went in March and although we were going for 7 nights and had a bigger budget to play with, Lowcostlasvegas.com always seemed to come up with the best deals. We went with them for both flights (Virgin) and accommodation (MGM) and couldn't fault them, would definitely use again. Everything was done via email and the service was great - worth a look if you haven't already!0 -
thanks i will take a lookhousehunter123 wrote: »Hi,

It's definitely a strain, but still possibly doable...I took indirect flights from London to Wisconsin via Houston of all places (I booked last minute and this was the cheapest deal for some bizarre reason)...I was only in Wisconsin for about 3/4 days. The exhaustion didn't kick in until I got back home, though. lol. Still, glad I went, as I was spending time with a good friend and her daughter - the daughter (who was almost 18) died in horrific circumstances a few weeks later. I still have wonderful memories of that holiday, though...
Anyhow, getting off topic...going back to the OP - you say you've been to Vegas before quite a few times - why not try somewhere new?

I you have to go for 3 Days, suggest you avoid Friday and Saturday as Hotels on these days cost three times the rate for Sunday - Thursday. Flight costs also cheaper weekdays.
.........3 days, incredible, it will take longer to overcome jetlag !0 -

While I agree that it's usually cheaper to fly midweek, doesn't the price increase massively if it doesn't include a Saturday stay? As in, so massively it would more than cancel any hotel savings ....?
I'd be interested to hear if that's not the case, as that's always been my experience.0 -

we have a buget of about 600-700 pounds per person and are looking to travel anytime between the end of may to july,i'm struggling to find much in our price range and wondered if anyone has any recommendations for resonably priced travel firms/websites?
many thanks
Good luck on your trip and you're bound to have a wonderful time.
And whatever you do ignore the dullards on here who say three days is a ridiculously short time - I disagree.
I'm a huge fan of fast in-and-out trips to places like Vegas as it tends to concentrate the mind and you don't spend ages fannying about with the rest of the tourist sheeple doing rubbish.
Plus the journey, wherever it is to, is all part of the fun as well - from the moment I walk into the departure airport and order my first glass of champers at the bar it's game on.
I'm off to the pub now to watch the footy but laters I'll post you a few links as to where you can fill up on cheap booze and food.0 -
Do you have to stay on the strip? Great deals at the Station Casinos and Sunset is right opposite the Gallaria Mall for shopping, they have everything on site on in a block or 2 and is a bit less 'touristy' as it's in Henderson not Las Vegas but still only 20 mins from the strip if you wanted to go there!
Check https://www.weluvlocals.com for deals too

I often book a tues-fri flight/hotel package (Expedia) cheaper than a weekend trip0 -

Well I never! You learn something every day. Thanks!0 -
Well obviously I'm completely insane as I often do a long weekend to Vegas

I don't relish the stag clientel attracted to the direct flights so almost always fly indirect leaving Heathrow early morning arriving into Vegas between 2pm and 4pm and usually catch a show the first night -as for jetlag -I find on the short trips it's actually less than on a longer trip to the west coast.
I disagree with most of the hotel recommendations too -If budget is tight I'd suggest either the Imperial Palace as Ferf suggested or another option would be the Orleans-just off Strip but with an excellent free shuttle service betwee 10am and just gone midnight that drops at Bill's right by the Flamingo so bang mid-strip. I've stayed at both the IP ad the Orleans and of the two for room comfort and size the Orleans wins hands down.
£700 is pretty do-able although it'll probably be cheaper to book flight and hotel seperately
Edit Just had a quick look -I found good flights for £495 with Vayama for the last weekend in May Times below (available for Monday just after midnight at same price)and 3 nights at the Gold Coast (same group and shuttle deal as the Orleans-GC is next door to Rio and right opposite Palms hotels and is decent ) with hotels.com (US)for $281.29 for 3 nights including taxes so comes in under budget at under £590 pp
