Question about the cea cinema card

My uncle has had one of these cards for the past few years but it has just expired about a week ago.

I just want to know if we pick up an application from the cinema would we still be allowed to get in with any other proof or do we have to wait for the new card to turn up? or can we get a temporary card of some sort until the new one arrives?

And if its the case of having a valid up to date card then does it usually take three weeks to arrive like it says on the website or is it sometimes quicker than that? Were kinda interested in watching a movie thats out at the moment.

from past experiance our local cinema refused me as the card had run out..I did explain about the 3wk timescale for a replacement but seemed I had a jobsworth!

must say though cards usually come through pretty quickly...i've waited anything from a few days after receiving cheque to just over a week or so

We don't have one as when we go to our local we say we haven't got a card yet so they just ask us for name etc. Only once have they asked for proof.

I know someone with one of those cards, the cinema let him use it 2 months after it had expired, so I think it depends on the cinema really.

Think mine took about a week.

I've used it about 3 times.

Not sure if i will get another in June this year when mine runs out,

I used to work for a cinema and would accept them after they expired, as long as the person would provide an address or telephone no. for the paperwork.
