Building trade arbitration service?

Is there a building trade arbitration service?
Our builder is looking to invoke the extension of time clause in a new build contract for circumstances beyond his control. He is looking for his losses and expenses to be covered.
This looks like a sighting shot and I reckon most delays were caused by the builder and were within his control but I would really rather this did not end up going down a legal route as I imagine if it didn't go well the builders company could be liquidated leaving us with a potentially large legal bill and a house to complete, we are already financially stretched on this.

Your contract should have specified what arbitration methods were available in the event of a dispute
I'm not familiar with Scots law, but there are several forms of ADR (alternative dispute resolution) but it may depend on what contract was used
You probably need to google for mediation, arbitration, or ADR services
Or engage a suitably experienced surveyor, project manager or suchlike to advise you if the builder does in fact have a claim under the contract0 -
I don't do work for builders (I am in the same area) as I have had and heard of many bad experiences with some
How did you get your builder, did you google them, their landline and mobile numbers?
cheersbaldly going on...0
