Parts for old style Twyfords loo

Can anyone advise me of a place I could get parts for an old Twyford toilet? Our one is circa 1975 (guessing-this is when house was built and I think it went in then) and the flush handle snapped. Otherwise the loo is perfectly fine and I really don't want to have to replace it if all I need is a new handle mechanism.

The reference number on the cistern is 112071

DH has tried ebay and has been in touch woth Twyford themselves who told him that the part now for that toilet was c60930 and sent him one, ut it does not fit after all. Basic problem is that is assumes the cistern wall will be strait but ours is a sort of stretched out S shape on the bit where the handle attaches and the straight connections won't go on.

Is there any plumbers etc who may specialise in stocking old parts? Surely I cannot be the only one with a loo 37 years old?

Thanks for reading
