Help with pine doors please!

I have some lovely clear pine doors that have not been treated and are now looking decidedly patchy *sobs*

There were some marks on them from the joiners dirty fingers and i`ve managed to remove most of these rubbing with a microfibre cloth which was dipped on water with a splash of bleach added and then tightly wrung out, any tips on how to remove the rest of the marks would be appreciated.

The bottom parts of the doors have gone patchy now and i`m holding off applying the varnish until i can find a solution to the patchyness.
Does anyone have a tried and tested method to make the doors look nice again with no patches? I`ve had a google around but have only found things to try - nothing definite. I would like them to remain natural with a coat or two of matt varnish to protect them. I was originally going to wax them all but i`ve waxed one and the bottom part has still gone patchy even after the wax was added and it wasn`t like this before.

Any help would be appreciated as i`m so fed up with them at the moment that i feel like burning them :o

Get a very fine grade sand paper and sand them all over. This will take all the marks off ready for varnishing.
Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.

The patchyness should be removed with the sand paper and shoudn't, once you have varnished, keep coming back.
