hi just read your post i am new to money saving expert aswell as im trying to clear my debt anyhoo you could make bacon and tomato pies easy to make and use for pack lunches
mince-hm burgers with a bit of the cheese they stick together and taste great, spaghetti bolonase, tacos, cottage pie
diced beef-a stew,stirfry
rump steak-if youve only got a little rump steak and lots of mouths to feed make a stirfry it goes a long way if you stinly slice it or cut into chunks and you can get stirfry from mr a's or mr m's for 50p we normally make a massive pot of this and stick it in the freezer
pizza-eat cold in pack lunches
when my mam makes a homemade soup or stew and theyve had tea if there isnt alot left she chucks a bit of pasts in it when she told me i wasnt keen on the idea but after trying it it really nice and can bumf up any meal
also what about a making a sausage casserole with the sausages and adding loads of veg if you cut them up small enough if makes it look like theres loads of sausage added bonus the kids eat lots of veg.
i am still new to money saving expert and have reads hundreds of threads so im not the best person to write on here but hope this helps:)

Thank you for your advice. I am not so much new as never really needed to save money as much as i do now so i would spend 600 a month on food with no thought at all, then i would have nothing to show for it, now i have had the kick up the backside that i have needed.
I love the soup idea adding pasta would bulk it out, i will buy some veg and give that a try, the susage is smoked sausage so its like a u shaped thing that you slice up (or cut in half and fry) i think i need to work out what i should buy to stretch this out as far as i can, the car insurance is due next week so it would be great if i didnt need to go shopping, altho i know what will happen..i wont go for a few days and i will be like a panic stricken woman who can forsee all shops never opening again and me not being able to feed anyone..really i dont know whats wrong with me, i know perfectly well there is plenty of food there, yet i still feel the need to go shopping..0 -

hi my problem is food shopping as well i live with oh and no kids but was spending easily £150 a wk if not more i recken i could live out of my freezer and cupboards for atleast two months i know my problems and am trying to change it.so at the minute i am budgeting £10 a wk for milk, bread, patatos until i empty my cupboards also joined some survey site if you go on valued options you can do surveys on there and once you get to £10 which isnt hard to do you can get a mr t's giftcard which could help towards your food bill :)hope this helps sorry for spellingVSP#17 £2.34

id use a quater of the mince for spag bol and another quater for chilli a tip i got off super scrimpers was to mix a lil porrodge oats with the mince to make it go futher and you cant taste it, with chilli if yo can find chick peas as well as kidney beanseven baked beans it will go futher.
the diced beef make a casserole add as much veg to it as possible.
