Does anyone know the Barcalycard website link on how to claim?
Unsurprisingley, it's not easily findable on their current web site!0 -
Using the cunning technique of going to barclaycard.co.uk and entering "price promise" in the search box I came up with this link: http://www.barclaycard.co.uk/Products/Apply/Card_Benefits/Price_Promise/index.html
T&C are here: http://www.barclaycard.co.uk/Products/Apply/Card_Benefits/Price_Promise/tandc.html0 -
Funny that - similar technique that I used to find Martin's article!Midas.0

Now that Barclaycard have withdrawn their Price Promise and Extended Warranty perks there seems little point keeping the card for purchases. Do any other providers still offer these benefits?0

Nationwide Gold card offers an additional years warranty for white/electrical goods, I think Martin's article mentions an RBS card for price promise.0

Citibank appear to offer the following benefits with their Platinum Visa Card.
FREE purchase protection for first 30 days
FREE 12 months extended warranty
FREE price match guarantee for 60 days
FREE emergency medical and legal advice
FREE travel accident insurance
FREE online fraud guarantee
Now, obviously, most cards have the last 3 benefits, but it's interesting that Citibank offer the first 3 benefits given that Barclaycard have just stopped doing a number of these. Wonder if it's because they're an American company rather than British perhaps?
Citibank are owned by Citigroup and the card is their own (i.e. not linked to MBNA or anybody else).
I quite like the look of this card as there are no BT fees (unlike MBNA) and you also get 0% on purchases for 9 months too, similar in many ways to the Halifax One Visa.
I don't know what kind of limits they offer as I haven't applied for one (yet!).

Can anyone get into the t+c for the price promise and extended warranty?
If you hover over the links below the pic of the card https://www.citicards.co.uk/exec/citiplatinumb/engine.exe?offer=PPB&merchant=citi# for the part you are interested in, then to the right the main page changes with another link to view the full t+c for that particular part. Obviously, if you move over to click the full info link, you are no longer hovering over the first link, so its gone! vanished! disappeared! stupid! Although, this part of the site where it shows new info when you hover over the links doesnt work at all in firefox!!
Applied for this card last week though, and apparently accepted and 2 forms on their way to me, so they say.

Can't see what the problem is, click the link for insurance terms to go here:
https://www.citicards.co.uk/docs/insuranceinformation.htm and price promise is described (though this does not include full t&c)0 -
The beauty of the Barclay's price promise was the fact that you could price match against online retailers. If you read these terms and conditions from citicards they state that they only match high street retailers.
This insurance provides cover for eligible purchases made on or after the first day after we issue you with you Citi Credit Card subject to the terms, conditions and limitations shown in the policy.
Price Protection covers most purchases of new, personal items (including gifts) that you buy from any store in the United Kingdom. If you buy an item with you Citi Credit Card and then find the same item for sale at a cheaper price at any retail store anywhere in the United Kingdom then we will refund the difference. You must discover the cheaper price within 60 days from the date of purchase. The item must be exactly the same make, model and specification, and must be available to the general public at normal retail outlets in the United Kingdom.
Sorry folks but that makes alot of difference.
