Any free parking near the science museum?

Hi
We are planning to go to the science museum on a Sunday. Does anyone know of any free street parking near by?

Thanks

Queensgate Mews by the natural history museum is free on a Sunday, as are some of the other surrounding roads. Museums open at ten and we arrived around 9.30 and there were still spaces. Have fun

A lot of the parking permit restrictions are lifted on Sunday morning on the roads opposite the Natural History Museum (which is beside the Science Museum) and although parking is still limited, if you arrive early enough you should be able to find a parking space.

Yes, but it can involve a bit of driving around and keeping your eyes peeled for the signs. The last two times we have been we found a space on Queensgate on the part just south of Cromwell Road.

    Did you find anything, OP?

We're thinking of going tomorrow (Saturday) which doesn't look so good for free parking. Seems to be free after 1:30pm, which is a possibility.
Or on other threads people have mentioned Imperial College car park for £8 a day at weekends. But looking here http://www3.imperial.ac.uk/facilitiesmanagement/security/carparking/car%20parking%20information%20for%20the%20general%20public it's significantly more than that.
Does anyone know? Have I googled the right place?

If going on a Saturday, park up and get the tube in, as you will pay a lot of parking. I would recommend getting there ffor opening time as it gets crowded, so much longer wait for hands on activities (especially on a rainy day like today). You could park up somewhere like Hounslow West which is off the M4 and it is £2 per day for weekend parking. Straight through on the tube to South Kensington (this part of line has no engineering works today). Sunday is the best day if you are looking for free parking.

On Sundays you can park on yellow lines but do check the signs to be 100% sure.

Check the TFL website first as there are lots of engineering works going on.

Weather was better than we feared so went to Brighton instead.
Parking would have been cheaper in London, methinks! £5 an hour.
Went to Hove instead. Then on to Worthing.
