Changing providers and line rental

Hi
I have my home phone and broadband separate. My phone is with BT and broadband O2. If I go on a bundle deal with another provider will my phone line rental be with them or with BT?
If in the future, I wanted to change again what happens? If my line rental was with someone else and not BT how could I change? I thought that you had to have a BT line?
Please help my confusion. Thanks

You can change to another company for line rental too as long as you are not under acontract with BT , if you are you have to clear that first .
Plusnet are BT really and are doing 3 free months might be worth a look for a package deal they also do a no contract deal if you pay for or have your own router.0 -
If your line is LLU'd to the new provider, then switching back may require you to go back to BT under a free'return to donor', and this requires a 12m line rental contract with BT-LLU to LLU transfers are not usually possible.
A BT line is one that runs on the BT network, it does not mean that you have to pay your line rental to BT.No free lunch, and no free laptop
