Aggghh :wall: i'm looking at different application forms and they are asking about business premises and ownership, leases, etc, its a required field with no option for home working.

    This is impossible :(

this is why you should make an appointment to see the business manager in branch..

Dont bother with trying to open on on-line...

its like doing car insurance on-line i hate it as their job discriptions dont cover what we do:mad:

wait until tuesday.. and then go into, or phone the local branch of a bank that you want to open an account with...

this is good old fashioned banking... where they see you face to face...and you can have a good old chat about what you want to do etc....

I would use the time that you would have tried opening a business account on-line, to either injoy this beautifull bank holiday weekend, or do some building block work so to speak, so your business will have a good base to start from....

I agree - forget doing it online, you want to see the whites of their eyes, and they yours. Even though 'the computer' gets the last shout, you will find a sympathetic and encouraging branch business banking person will help navigate all the paperwork and help you get set up.

And take your ID: passport, driving licence, and something else 'proving' that you live where you say you live ...

DH has had astonishing problems opening a second business account at Lloyds, but on every visit they check his ID before they talk to him. So at least we can be sure there's no fraud going on. Or something. I just keep asking why he continues to use them!

Very good idea to keep your business and personal accounts at separate banks, btw. That way if one is in trouble, the other won't suffer, IYSWIM.

HSBC offer 18 months free banking, as others have said apply in store not online.
