If you're thinking of making a donation this Xmas, please consider the Family Welfare Association who have a fund to help poor families in Britain to get things like a cooker or furniture. You wouldn't believe the difference it makes. Some people have so little.
And if you are someone who needs something like that for you and your kids, consider applying (your application has to be backed up via social services I believe).
