Pace Forward/Rockwell & Lloyds Current Account

Options
Hi, I'm just after a bit of advice. Last month I received a letter from Pace Forward informing me that I owed £1,569.51 and the original lender was Lloyds TSB. I had no idea what this was for (I did have a CC with them but the final payment for that was made a few years ago) so sent a CCA request. Today I have received a letter from Rockwell informing me that it was for a current account and enclosed 16 pages of account statements. My last wage cheque was paid in on 23rd June 2005 (I was closing that account and opening a Halifax one so that my wages would clear instantly) yet they don't appear to have closed the account until 7th March 2006 - and not before hitting me with over £1k in charges, consisting of o/draft interest, o/draft excess fee (it was only a £100 o/draft) and unpaid d/d.

Now I've obviously screwed up somewhere when transferring my direct debits to the new Halifax account (no idea how as they were definitely being paid out from the new account) but I'm wondering if it's possible for me to contest these charges or do I just accept it as a very expensive lesson learned and set up a repayment plan to clear the full amount?

    Where do you live?

Scots Law on such matters differs from the rest of the UK.

Guid. Tell them to gang awa an bile their heids, or whatever expression of grave disdain is now commonplace where you are. :p

Under section 6 of the Prescription and Limitation (Scotland) Act 1973, yon stupid sassenachs are too late - your obligation to pay that alleged debt was extinguished last month!

I may live here but I speak proper - managed to get the gist of what you were saying without the help of a translator though :p
