I've just seen this advertised in the newspaper. Has anyone got it and does it work?

The Ad says:-
"What is a Little Plumber Electronic Water Softener"
short answer is: IT IS NOT a water softener
Note the weasel words further down the ad:
"Your water will also feel softer so no need for a traditional water softener"
They are now saying that it isn't a water softener - after they have called it one !
These devices MAY slightly reduce scale in the pipes, but even that is highly debatable. They definitely do NOT soften the water:- only an ion exchange or reverse osmosis device will do that.

My last job before I retired, was as a property maintenance officer in a large Naval establishment. We had very hard water and we also had a commercial sized electronic water "softener". Going by the state of the pipes that I had to get replaced in the galley, there was not much visible evidence of any water softening going on in the pipes.I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0
