    the CPU cooler should be clipped/screwed onto the cpu, probably under a heatsink on the mobo. It's going to be directly opposite where the case fan points :)

    Your system should be something like this
    You need to make sure that the fins in the aluminium cooler (under the fan) are cleaned out properly. Also, where is your PC located - you really do need to make sure there is a good flow of air in and out of all the vent holes.

    Yes that's my system and that big fan you can see is the one I have cleaned. However, I will clean again the fins under the fan.

    The air flow is the same as it has been for the last 2 years since I have had it but only recently got this problem.
