Quick (?) Credit Card Purchase Question

I'm looking at buying a specialised electrical item from the States, Around £550 - via their website.

I've read about credit card protection being good for such purchases but am a little stuck, Although i have 2 credit cards - A Vanquis and a Capital One the total of both wouldn't cover the full cost + delivery

Am i able to make part payment like this:

Capital One - £250 - Part payment
Vanquis - £250 - Part Payment

(To credit limits)

then debit card or paypal the rest, Would this be possible and cover me?

Or can someone suggest any other way? :o

Thanks peeps! :)

To the best of my knowledge, using 2 credit cards to pay is only available on the phone or in person and not online. If you are able to purchase over the phone, then should be no problem.
