I've just caught up and wanted to say how sorry I am about your cat.

What fab news about the allotment.

The kitchen sounds great. How nice to have nice new shiny one that you put in. Remember you promised pictures !:)
I can't be bothered updating this anymore

Another NSD as we spent the day at the allotment. Some experienced allotment folk have kindly given us a tray each of cabbage, lettuce and leek seedlings so we've got stuff growing in it already! We thought this year would just be preparing the plot for next year so we are delighted :D
Still an awful lot to clear and shed to repair but it seemed daft not to plant stuff we had been given for free in the soil that was cleared.

Things moving apace with the change of our current account to First Direct. The new account is now opened and have asked them to do the switching of diredt debits and standing orders so hopefully won't take long before we can sever all ties with Santander.

Trying to make a loaf of bread every day as well as biscuits etc for luncboxes.

Also dabbling with home-made yoghurt recipe off money saving old style forum. Small success so far but room for improvement.

    Back on nights tonight.

Thanks Iris, isn't it really odd how you keep half expecting to see them around even though you know they're not here any more? He was a much loved old friend :)

    GRRR

Rang Bristol & West earlier to make OP for June. Now not only does the 0117 number for Bristol not work anymore (which would be free with my BT package) meaning that I have tp pay to use the 0845 number, but they now close at 5pm not 8pm so I missed them :(

I know the world is making economic cutbacks but I'm cross

Also, Bristol & West (AKA Bank of Ireland Mortgages) seem to be desperate to lose our custom. 4-5 times over the last few months they have contacted us to see if we will talk to other mortgage providers and switch to them. But I would have to pay a fee and switch to a higher interest rate!! I think it must be costing them more to service our mortgage account than they are making from us as they clearly want rid of us :D

That's frustrating, can you not OP till Monday now?

Made the OP for June today. Is it just me, or do money lenders never sound pleased when you make an OP??

We went to a PYO strawberyy farm on Sunday. The hugest, most delicious strawberries I've had for ages. Picked lots & ate a few (quality control purposes only you understand). With my spoils I have made - a pavlova (eaten last night), strawberry ice cream (in the freezer), strawberry cheesecake (half eaten tonight) and 6 jars of jam :D.If I can't get my jeans done up I only have myself to blame :o

On that subject, I have been cooking (and eating) loads since I've had my new kitchen and lovely shiny range cooker, and I have definitely noticed a difference around the waistline :(. Will really have to be careful, I'm not overweight by any means but do put on weight easily. It doesn't help that I live with a tall thin DH who eats like a horse but never puts weight on, and 3 stick insect-like DSs who have men-sized appetites but obviously have daddy's fuel burning properties.

DH gone to do a bit of weeding and watering on the allotment. If all the cabbages and leeks we've been given do grow we'll be living on cabbage & leek soup all winter. We'll be rocket powered! We'll have no friends but we won't get scurvy :rotfl:

:rotfl: Yes money lenders don't seem keen when you OP, I'm constantly asked "Why" and then they tut when you tell them "So you get less interest off me"

Strawberry overload, do you need any help with all the eating nom nom nom :)
