External paint

I have just bought B&Q External gloss which states on the tin that it is for metal and wood. However i am going to use it on masonry below the bricks in the front of the house. I would have gone for a masonry paint but unfortunately it was not available in the colour we wanted which is very deep brown called conker.
It is quite thick and one coat will do the trick. Is there any disadvantage by using it on masonry. Comments from members will be appreciated.
Thanks

Of course you can get masonry paint in the colour you want. Go to the Dulux site and check out the Weathershield pages.

Given the choice between masonry paint in the wrong colour and 'ordinary' paint in the right colour, I would use the masonry paint to start and finish with the 'ordinary' paint.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature.
