Paying in a cheque on a Saturday...

Hi,
Does anybody happen to know; if I pay in a cheque to my NW current account over the counter thismorning (Saturday), is the money likely to reach my account any sooner than if I wait until Monday morning?
I'm kinda figuring that cheques will just sit there until Monday waiting to be processed, in which case I won't bother making the extra journey today!
Thanks!

AFAIK weekends ae excluded from the clearing cycle so if it takes 4 days to clear for example it's 4 days excluding sat and sun. I'd stay at home and save the journey til mon0

Saturday is not a working day so any work today will be bundled with Monday.0
