Abusive taxi driver!
Comments

Regardless of the situation , without independent witnesses to the incident reporting the driver isnt going to have any come back on him.
If they took all complaints against taxi drivers's seriously then they would spend their entire day looking into matters! You could be anyone making a complaint against a driver simply to have the driver pulled in! (Not saying that you are , just that this type of thing COULD happen)
Do you have any witnesses? Have you lodged a report in Corporation Street?
Tbh I just cannot see this matter being taken any further unless you have another driver who stopped to say they would be you're witness.0 -
Sorry to hear you were upset but didn't you know, taxi drivers actually own the roads over here. They are the only people who earn a living by driving and therefore must take priority over everyone else!0

Yet another poster making sweeping generalisations!
I take then that seeing as how taxi drivers are as bad as you make out you dont call one to pick you up on the weekend when you have had a night on the booze.......
Bet you dont worry about their driving styles then do you!The loopy one has gone :j0 -

:rotfl:And what exactly is the depot going to do?
My Husband is a taxi driver and if someone rang their depot up to make a complaint that one of their drivers had upset a lady on the road when she pulled out in front of them they would ask what exactly she was telling them for!!! Taxi drivers are SELF EMPLOYED so its pointless telling tales to the actual depot owner.
Without a witness to the actual event , just as taxi says in their previous post , the caller could be anyone ringing to complain!
OP dont waste your time complaining because you wont get taken seriously! The loopy one has gone :j0 -
Golden Anemone - you're right, I missed the bit at the end and the bit at the start gave the impression that OP hadn't indicated.
In this case I hope that OP has checked that her indicators are working!
Just a few more points - the taxi driver wasn't necessarily speeding, and he is perfectly entitled to accelerate up to the speed limit at whatever rate he likes, as long as he is in control of his vehicle.
Also, if he wasn't actually behind and was beside, it would be OP's fault for changing lane and hitting him.
Surprised this thread is still going!
Yes, my indicators were working. And he was well behind&speeding as the lights were about to change red. For the record, I consulted a friend who is a police inspector and he agreed the taxi man was in the wrong. There is no excuse for that behaviour, and IN THE EYES OF THE LAW, if his behaviour caused upset then he is guilty of harrassment.
But as someone helpfully pointed out, it is very hard to prove.
For the record, I am over it now. I wrote the OP when I was still quite worked up about it, not long after it happened. I complained to the taxi company who apologised, they gave me the address&details to take it further but by then I had moved on.
I'd also like to point out, 'almillar' there would've been no danger of me hitting him anyway as he just had a gross over-reaction. I think he startled himself because he put the pedal down flat out to try and beat the red, however saying that I was still able to get out safely in front of him, there were no screeching of brakes from him. I think he was annoyed cos I blocked him from driving through amber.0 -

Actually you are wrong. The company in question was very apologetic, even tho the driver was self-employed they weren't happy he was bringing their rep into disrepute so were going to speak to him. They also helpfully gave me all his license details&name/no of the guy in the council to complain to. I didn't take it any further as I felt I'd made my point.
Whether they're self employed or not, they're still wearing the uniform of the company and trading under their name and no one likes bad rep.0 -
