Kittens - loss of appetite???

Quick question - I think my (nearly) 5 month old female kitties are in heat... very vocal, lots of 'squirming', even more skittish than usual but also sleeping a lot etc etc. Is loss of appetite also a sign of them being in heat??? I've been worried because over the past few days, they have been eating less and less, to the point where I'm struggling to feed them
.
One of them is v slim already (the runt) so cannot afford to lose the weight, bless her. They usually have a two wet meals (Hi-Life) and two dry meals (Hill's Natures Best) a day and normally thrive on it.
I gave them cat milk this morning because I'm worried about them getting enough fluid, especially in the warmer weather, but they do drink some water and seem to be using the litter tray ok (tho less solids than usual).
They are booked into the vet's to be spayed on 6th May... if they are on heat at the time, what would the advice be? And could they be underweight for the op? Worry, worry, worry! LOL.
Thanks.

Have they been wormed recently? I know we adopted some kittens once who would not eat and that was because they were beriddled with worms. I have never dealt with a cat in heat so cant help there sorry.0

Yes, they've been wormed (by the vet), but thanks for the suggestion

I've just spent the last ten minutes trying to tempt the skinniest one to eat her tea, and she managed about a quarter of a pouch. Better than nothing!
