Hi
I am looking for some advice.
We moved into a new house, off plan, last June. When we bought it we knew there would be houses built at the back of us and also new that they would be 3 storey town houses ( our is a 2 storey detached)
My complaint is that all the other town house on the estate have the lounge/kitchens either downstairs or on the first floor at the front of the property so it, so it wouldn't affect us. I noticed the other day that the three house behind us seem to have the lounges on the first floor at the back! Which means that they will look over our kitchen, lounge, garden and bedrooms!!
When I spoke to the sales woman about it all I got told was "don't worry you've got their garden and your garden between you!!" The properties that are building are the only three on the whole of the site that have the lounges situated like this an we are the only three house that are looked over in this way!!
My question is... Do I have enough of a reason to complain and maybe get them to pay for some shrubs/ trees to block out the neighbours?
I'm sure the builders will just say that we saw the plans before we bought the property, although we thought that the properties would be like the others on site, not a knew style completely!!'
So it's so long winded but don't but needed a rant haha!
Thanks

Townhouses are usually always set up like that, with lounge on 1st floor aren't they?
Kitchen/utility/garage to ground floor?0 -
