Dark wooden floor

Hi all,
This maybe a totally silly question, sorry if it is! I would like to have wooden floors put into my new house downstairs in hall, toilet, kitchen. I like the look of the dark wood as my PVC windows and doors are the dark stuff (wouldn't have chosen this but not going to be changing it!). Are all the dark colours stained wood? If so worried about scratches / dints showing more than lighter options.
So what do you think? Will this match the best?
Thanks.

If you buy a solid wooden floor such as Walnut or Merbau (bothe dark colours), then its not a light wood that has been stained. They will be solid walnut or merbau. That means if there is a scratch at some time, you wont get light coloured wood showing through.Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0

Thanks for the response, this is exactly what I wanted to know. Was worried when I saw the sample at floors2go and there was a few choices of oak and the lightest was the only natural colour. Will have a look at walnut or merbau.0
