I want to record a video stream from the internet, could anyone recommend a free piece of software that is easy to use, please?

    Hi
There are different methods used to stream video on the internet.
    So different software is needed.
There probably isn't one piece of software that will record 'anything'.

    EDIT
OK, a screen recording program will record 'anything', but the quality won't be so good.

If you are using Mozilla Firfox as your web browser then there are lots of free add-ons that can do this.

I assume you are trying to download a flash stream as they are the most common...

    to do this:
Go to the firefox menu > add-ons > then type in flash stream downloader

There should be quite a few that are mostly free.
Try a few and see which you liek the best, if it isn't flash then try the add-ons anyway as many do all sorts of file type - some I havent even heard of before!

I have tried them and they seem good.

if you are not using firefox (which you should - it is awesome lol), then you could try this...
*OK, turns out I am not allowed to post links... ggrrr* go to google and type in download.com, then int he top right hand corner of that page type video download toolbar and find the software that has 5 red stars next to it, download it.

it is just a toolbar that you can hide if you don't want it perminantly on your web browser. But it also comes with a free player if you don't already have one - as usually flash streams will not play in windows media player.

Just make sure that what you are downloading it legal and not copyrighted as you could get into serious trouble!

    I hope I have helped,
