Mother of the bride, to wear a hat or not to wear a hat?

It's up to her really, my mum hates wearing hats so won't be and my MIL2B hates hats but likes the fascinator so will get one of them.0

My mum's wearing a hat - and the hunt for the right hat/fascinator has been a great part of the wedding preparation

Like everyone else has said though, there's no right or wrong. My mum loves hats, and I love the thought of hats and fascinators at my wedding so it's worked out well

I look terrible in hats and don't like fascinators so I won't be wearing either, I'm not sure how I'm wearing my hair yet but I suppose I'll be shoving something in it, mind you I've not got my outfit yet and my daughter is starting to panic a bit :rotfl:. Poor girl I've been asking if I can wear my craghoppers and my crocs but all I get is dirty looks from her and loads of links to stuff she thinks I might like.0

i guess it also depends on her hairstyle - if a hat on it for a few hours will make it look bad by the time the evening, then that might be bad. i guess i'd favour fascinators for that reason; you can wear them all day. i don't think hats are expected these days unless royalty is involved! (they can however look amazing - but they'd make my hair have a big line round it so i can't ever see me wearing one!):happyhear0

I'm having a non-traditional wedding and as I have to wear a hat every day at work, and despise it, I have specified NO hats at my wedding. My sister loves hats and wants to wear one but there has been a compromise on fascinators.
It's down to personal preferance but personally I would hate to see any hats in my pics and have got to ask all the ladies not to wear one - or to take them off before the photos are done. I would prefer to see there faces in the photos than have them hidden by ridiculous "mine is better than yours" hats.

My mum doesn't normally wear hats, but really really want to wear one for our wedding, she keeps going on about it!
A waist is a terrible thing to mind.0
