Any ideas on monthly utility bills?

Options
My family of 2 adults and 2 small children are looking to move to mid wales. Would anyone have any ideas on what utility costs we would be looking at for a 5 bedroom house for a family of 4 - working during the day? Or might be able to point me in the right direction as to who I might be able to ask?

Thankyou!

Very difficult to tell you because of the many factors involved. You can access all the same electricity and gas companies for the best rates as with the rest of the country. Your water will almost certainly come from Welsh Water (although if you are on the border you may find Severn Trent maybe the supplier).

Council tax is cheaper in Wales than England but a 5 bed house may well attract a high banding and will be expensive.

Being nosey - which bit of Mid Wales are you looking at.

I'd ask the previous owner or tenant of the property. It'll give you a vague idea. Does the house have gas, lpg, oil or solid fuel for heating or something else?

:p Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S) :p Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money. :p
