Isn't price fixing when a lot of companies get together to agree a price and reduce competition? That's illegal, I believe, but I didn't see anyone mention that.

Sorry if I seem to have caused you some slight aggrevation todolist. The man stores group as a whole put up all the prices just before the VAT increase then put up the prices again at the VAT increase and marketed that price increase as the VAT increase after they'd already done it.

I've not accussed the company of fraud or price fixing I don't know if the above classes as either of those things. Nor any allegation:
1. Something alleged; an assertion: allegations of disloyalty.
2. The act of alleging.
3. A statement asserting something without proof: The newspaper's charges of official wrongdoing were mere allegations.
4. Law An assertion made by a party that must be proved or supported with evidence.

If all the customers could see it and so could the staff that input the price changes its just a titbit of information rather than anything negative.

Much like the Director was featured in the EDP Future 50 this year. Was just an general thought spillage onto the forum rather than anything in particular.

This is 100% the correct place. Why would I want to take up a deal where the prices have been artificially inflated before the 'sale'?

People should be aware if this is the case, and I for one am grateful to mummyplus3 for bringing it to the fore.

wow this site used to be such a freindly place, no !!!!!ing or moaning or at least very little and certain no full on attacks, i find it sad that because someones opinion is contrary to someone elses they feel the need to jump on their high horse an go on the attack..
anf fyi if a company inflates their prices to such a degree that you can purchase an item elsewhere for the same or a little higher elsewhere then i certainly do want to know about it and make an imformed decision..
