Just cleared my overdraft!! £487.78 paid so £602.02 paid to the 100 day challenge and its day 4...iv still got £2,254.40 left!

Hopefully get rid of a credit card in May - £720 left and one in June - £550 leaving a £900+ loan in July and thats 100 day challenge done.

So glad i decided just to pay the overdraft and not leave it dragging on and make little payments. Paid it off with Thursdays payday. Got £721 for the fortnight...thats including 4.5 hours overtime...next fortnights pay is 2 weeks yesterday so will have all of this weeks overtime(20 hours- paid at time and a half so really another 30 hours pay on top of usual 45) Aiming to at least match this weeks hours next week so pay will hopefully be at least £1,000. Thats the magical figure i want to see and will spur me on and keep me going!

Cant wait to get rid of my car! Roll on October for that, saving me £240.30 of my hard earned a month. Car finance is a no no for me in future. Even leasing seems more attractive now.

Ahwell few small steps made today..paid overdraft, worked full days overtime and having a low cost Sat night so getting there. Another payment closer to Debt Free:beer:

    Excellent start Rictus! :T:T:T

Keep it going, and you will be debt free in no time. However, always remember its one brick at a time, slow and steady wins the race and all the other cliches.

    Good luck

Hi, How come you come out with so much on a normal Monday to friday? Do you not pay tax and insurance. If you worked 40 hours a week at £8.95 an hour, I get that to be £358 a week before deductions.

He works a lot of overtime (anything over 39hrs pw) which is paid at 1.5x normal wage

I must be doing something wrong, I'm 49 and never earned more than £6.58 an hour.
I'm struggling getting proper work nowadays. I do Ebay and have some agency work now and again. I've only had one days work this week, and next week just the one again.
Wish I had that much coming in per month.
Lucky boy Rictus. I wish I had your head on my shoulders and got out of debt at an early age. Now I can't see light at the end of the dark tunnel.
I wish you the very best of luck and well done for being strong.

Stop beating yourself up Binnie, it's a really tough market out there atm. Things will improve soon and I am sure you will find work soon.

On the debt front, just hang in there.

    Good luck

It's our fault we are in this mess though no-one elses. I get mad at how weak me and hubie have been.
Now we are suffering because of our stupidness and wish we had never said yes to loans and credit cards.
I've applied for well over 60 jobs since January, and all but the agency one have either ignored me, or said no thanks. Sometimes it's so hard to keep positive.

As KPR said dont get yourself down...as long as you have your health and a roof over your head you can be happy enough. Put in my hours for last week...19.5 hours overtime ontop of usual 47.5...so fair bit of overtime in already. This weeks overtime goes in on Monday then payday next Friday and il see if i managed to smash the £1,000 fortnight pay barrier. Just finished at 9 oclock tonight. Started at 7.30 as opposed to the 7 oclock i aim for so hopefully manage 7 start tomorrow. Still 13.5 hour day is not to be frowned at. 3 of them = 39 hours done once take off lunch so any hours i do Thursday, Friday and Saturday is time and a half...fantastic.

Iv been having a think...got a car and a van...only need one. Car is on finance and im really wanting rid. So maybe in July(when i have 3 weeks off) i might see how much i am owe to have paid off half and hand car back. And sell my van as terrible mpg...and get a smaller van with better mpg...maybe a vw caddy? Love the look of a black one...however this may require small amount of finance...Not decided yet going to play it by ear...hopefully i can cut my expenses anyway and get rid of them and get a van thats cheaper insurance aswel.

Done alot of overtime this week and last so cant wait for payday a week tomorrow...buzzing to get my payslip and see if i smashed the £1,000 fortnight take home pay barrier...itl be great if i do and il keep at the overtime.

Just opened and counted up savings tin...had it about 2 months id say? £405.58 in there!! Magic! Straight in the bank tomorrow...minus some for diesel for van and petrol for car and a lil £20 (budgeted for, dont worry!) spend this weekend!! Keep wanting to redo my SOA and see what i can change and the effect...might do a week tomorrow when i know how much exactly my pay is with all that overtime and see if i keep doing what iv done past fortnight as a minimum. Even though sometimes it seems like im speaking to myself here its still helping me keep motivated.
