Help. My avg has just run out, I have always used the free version. Now the infuriateing search for the REAL "free version". Am sure lots of people have serched thru all the (not ) free versions. Can anyone please save me the pain & give me the web address of the latest "Free Version"!!!!

Have you looked at the link?
Can you not see the free download?
Personally I wouldn't use AVG (used to but found it lacking) but if you wish to continue to do so then the link I provided will get you it.
I know that using search engines can be a hit and miss experience for people. You say you have been doing it for over and hour, it took me less than 10 seconds to find that link.
That is not meant as a criticism, just an observation. I work with someone who struggles to find anything she wants using google, but I have never had an issue.0 -

True - got that on a couple of machines at home and seems to be fine, although on one machine it warns you that you are not protected as it goes through the boot sequence, then sorts itself out.0
