in Credit cards
Hi all,
I have a standard natwest credit card, which I have had since 1987, But once i have paid the balance off next month (about £100 or so) i am thinking of cancelling it, as i have just got an M&S money credit card, so the NW one will be surplus to reqiurements.[sic]
My question to you all is, if i do go ahead and cancel it, will this affect my credit rating/score?
Oh, i also want to get rid of it to avoid paying the £12 annual fee!
Many thanks

It will just show as a closed account on your credit record, not negative at all.

Yep, I have a closed Crap 1 and a closed TSB one on my record, never stopped me getting the best deals."We want the finest wines available to humanity, we want them here, and we want them now!"0

Crap1 were ok but they made me stick on some puny balance (think it was 1700) for years on end.
I cancelled it an got an Lotus branded MBNA card which came with a much more useful 6500 limit.
If you're paying for holidays just for the protection like us, 1700 was no good."We want the finest wines available to humanity, we want them here, and we want them now!"0
