Bill Issues With EDF?
Hi all.
Does this seem right to you guys/gals in today's modern society?
I switched my gas and electricity supply to EDF in December last year. I was told at the time it can take a few weeks to complete the change over from my present supplier (no kidding)
Well here we are in late April and I have still not had any gas bills from EDF. My electricity supply/bills has not been an issue, there up to date.
So I chased EDF about what's going on....see there response below my initial enquiry.
Hi
Can you give me an update on my gas supply. As I transferred to you in December last year and as yet I have not had a gas bill from you as it still has not been confirmed as being active.
I am getting a bit concerned that suddenly I will be presented with a high bill that I may not be able to pay in a single payment.

Thank you for your email dated 18 April 2011.
I can confirm we started supplying your gas on 31.01.2011. Currently your gas contract is in the status of ‘registration completed’ and unfortunately we are unable to accept a meter read or bill your account until this changes to ‘live’. This is an IT issue we are experiencing with a number of our gas accounts at this time; we have a specialist team working to get this resolved for our customers. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience this may cause in the mean time.
As you pay by direct debit, you will only receive a 6 monthly review and an invoice once a year. If you require a bill/invoice before this time, we can issue you with an interim bill upon request. As we are experiencing this IT issue with your account, we are unable to set up your direct debit for your gas supply at this time. If you are concerned you may be falling behind with your direct debit payments, you may wish to make a voluntary payment on your account to cover your current usage. Please accept our apologies for any further inconvenience this may cause. :rotfl:
Any pointers would be appreciated
Cheers
Craig

If you know you are going to get a bill for a few months usage, put some money to one side on a weekly or monthly basis or like they say, make a voluntary payment so that when its sorted you wont have to pay it all at once.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -

I have the same problem on both gas & elect with no DDs taken this year. You do have the option of credit card payment but would this affect the DD discount? What a way to run a business!0 -
My DD's are being taken, I got a gas bill after approx 90 days, but no electricity bill (although a billing date is shown in 'My Account'). I queried it and got the same ludicrous answer about only being billed once a year as I pay by DD!
They then said that they would issue an electricity bill manually-that was 2 weeks ago, nothing has come through yet. Accordingly I've no idea at what rate I am being charged for the electricity....
I've also not been credited the Welcome Bonus, despite being on supply for over 90 days now.
Once my 12m are up I'll be going elsewhere, even if they do come up with the best deal. The aggro just isn't worth it.No free lunch, and no free laptop0
