I just bought a new phone with a new vodaphone sim, deal from last weeks newsletter.
First phonecall was from 08700708105.
They don't waste time do they.
I have had a phone with an Asda sim and never had a spamming phone call in the 5 years I have had it.
3 days with vodaphone! ARGH.
When the £10 is used up the Asda sim is going in the phone.

As a PAYG number, it may have been recycled - so someone may be text spamming the former numbers owner?0

That number is Vodafone customer services. It's probably some sort of [STRIKE]courtesy[/STRIKE] sales call.0

OP - don't forget to quote "I want you to suppress my details for marketing purposes as defined by section 11 of the Data Protection Act" at them as well.0

It was a market research call from Vodafone; there is a difference between marketing and market research.0 -
I've had 9 courtesy calls from Vodafone since the beginning of the month. They always ring while I'm at work so I can't answer my phone. I know what they want anyway- do I want their internet? Is there anyone in the household who wants to join Vodafone? Blah blah blah.... They seem to be tailing off now though.0

Okay, so in that case I'd qualify with "marketing and market research" instead, making it clear.Paul_Varjak wrote: »It was a market research call from Vodafone; there is a difference between marketing and market research.
Of course, if companies would agree to my fees for market research (100 pounds per hour or part thereof), I'd be less likely to be disinterested in their market research...

Hi trinity_enigma,
I’m disappointed to see the number of unwanted calls you’ve received here and I understand the frustration this will cause.
If you’d like to email us using the link provided above by Sukhi, we can update your marketing preferences.
Best wishes,
Jenny

Whilst I understand the need for marketing...
Surely if you can understand how annoying it is, then surely the preferences should be set to OFF by default and give users the option to have them if they wanted?“That old law about 'an eye for an eye' leaves everybody blind. The time is always right to do the right thing.”0
