Edinburgh to Aberdeen

Options
Hi all, don't use train very often so not too savvy about how to use train websites. I'm looking for a couple of tckts for any day Mon-Fri day travel (same day) but it's taking me forever on Trainline to keep putting in different dates to see if I can find a cheaper option. Any quick way round this? Thanks.

    There also Group Fares.
    Take a good look at all the ticket options and don't be ripped off

    There are also Advance Fares too with ones for East Coast services getting an extra 10% discount when you book through EastCoast.co.uk. Prices start at £8.90 when booked through EastCoast.co.uk

    By the way DON'T book through trainline or QJump, They charge a booking fee. Train Company websites such as EastCoast.co.uk,LondonMidland.com do not and you can book for any Train Companies trains through any of these.
    Also booking through the train company your travelling with can sometimes bag you an extra discount. For example EastMidlandsTrains.co.uk offer a £1 discount when booking EMT Advance Tickets (Advance being a ticket type seperate from Super Off Peak,Off Peak and Anytime which can also be bought in advance but are no cheaper if you do.).

    Thetrainline have a best fare finder that will search for the cheapest tickets over a period of days.
    http://www.thetrainline.com/farefinder/
    Did you really mean to put loose?
    Lose: no longer possess, not to retain, unable to find
    Loose: not firmly or tightly fixed in place

    I'd have used a Megabus coach - this time next week the fare is £12 to Edinburgh, £7 from Edinburgh, only 30 minutes slower each way.

    Great that you have got your tickets at a great price, but if for some reason you couldn't buy your tickets in advance and needed some 'walk on' tickets ie buy at the station on departure then try splitting at the following;

    Inverkeithing, Dundee and Stonehaven, brings the fare down to £39.7 per person just make sure that the train(s) you catch call at those stations.
    Whoa! This image violates our terms of use and has been removed from view

    Have used Megabus to go to Inverness and sometimes it's great value but not on this occasion. Main reason for chosen train is so that I can walk about a bit when get bored. You can only go to the toilet & back on a bus (and it wasn't a particularly pleasant toilet on the Inverness route!!!)
