Things for sale I wouldn't think of buying

Looking at local bargain finder someone has 4 empty soap and glory boxes some slight damage with a starting price of £15. Why on earth would someone buy these. You can buy cardboard boxed cheaper in the shops.

Has anyone else seen anything that they cant imagine why someone would buy it

Well the main reason I think (and I have to add this is my personal opinion before everyone bites my head off) is that a legitimate box adds authenticity to fake or otherwise hooky items. It's not just this particular one (and I must admit I had to google who 'Soap & Glory' were) you will often see high end watch boxes offered for sale for instance as a genuine Rolex box with a fake watch in it is likely to sell for more than a real watch with no box.

So in this case if I was to buy the boxes and fill them with fake products I could word an advert in such a way that suggests that the complete item is genuine whereas it would only be the box. If I then sold each item for how much I paid for all the boxes I would make a good profit and probably not get challenged about the veracity of the contents and even if I did I could blame my supplier.

not that I would buy them, but S&G comes in pretty boxes, hat boxes etc that make pretty storage (some people feel)

I sold a mobile phone box and manual once, after the phone was stolen. Buyer seemed pleased with it.

I saw Pandora boxes and packaging for sale at Christmas, I presumed so people could buy a fake one and package it to look like a real one.
