Went £10 overdraft with Barclays. What would happen?

I bought some clothes and paid with my card thinking I had £90 but actually had £80. The transaction went through and now I checked online and it is showing -£10.

I put £200 from my other account into the negative account and now it is showing £190, so, the minus £10 has gone now but would I get charged or anything?

It's only been for a few hours aswell, not like I left the -£10 there for days.

Can I take the overdraft limit off? It's a student account so hopefully I shouldnt get charged.

Thanks,

MoE

    lazy,

I'll be amazed if you get charged. Usually its balance at end of work day that's assessed.

Is your student overdraft 'free' anyway? Check your terms and conditions.

Lol, you went into your overdraft? Oh dear!!
  • If you had agreed to have an overdraft it won't be a problem, but if you didn't agree to have one in the first place, they will try and charge you something like £30/£40. (they do at NatWest anyway - if u go over your agreed limit). For the first couple of times though, if you go in and speak to them, they usually take the fee off.

I wuld be scared too! Never had an overdraft and right now am in danger (forgot I'd ordered something on Amazon ages back) - I have transferred money and am hoping ends meet.
Hope you get away with it! Good luck.

When i was with barclays they gave me £100 free overdraft, you probably have this as well so i wouldn't worry about it too much
Sometimes i surprise myself by being right.

I went on a £400 overdraft for a week and didn't get charged for it. I think you should be safe.
