Credit Card Charges

In the information on this site it suggests that credit card charges should be no more than £12.
I've done a SAR on Egg for the my credit card and find that i've been charged £20 per incidence of charging. So I intend to claim.
Interestingly however the SAR printouts show their charges are £16 for each incidence, so which figure is correct?

Does it say £20 on your normal statements then? Does this mean the balance is then different? Egg have been charging £16 since 2006 so would suggest this was the correct amount but if it says different on your statements or letters then query it with them.0

You'll need to explain a little more I'm afraid.
What does the SAR show? A £16 charge or a £20 charge per incident?"Now to trolling as a concept. .... The SAR covers the period since opening the card in 2001 and now.
In the terms and conditions of each statement its showing £16 per instance. However I have charges of £20 in some instances hence my query.
I'm still puzzled why the figure of £12 is shown on here.
Thanks

I'm still puzzled why the SAR is indicating you were charged £16 and you believe you were charged £20.
Have you proof that you actually paid £20 for a £16 charge? If so, make a complaint and I'm sure the £4 overpay per charge will soon be refunded

Seems you are getting confused. I asked Egg for the SAR due primarily to the successes of those here who've claimed back CC charges and PPI misselling.
So the T&Cs pages show charges should be being charged at £16 a time.
I can see some charges at £20 so will be claiming for those. But what I'm getting at is, the site stickies on this site suggest they should not be charging any more than £12, so which is correct £12 or £16.0 -
The OFT report in 2006 stated that anything above £12 could be considered as unreasonable (although they are careful to state that they are not saying that anything under £12 IS reasonable) therefore most credit card companies at that time reduced their charges down to £12. However Egg are a special case as they successfully put forward to the FOS that their charges of £16 were a fair estimate of their costs, so they currently charge more then anyone else.0

£20 is not correct. As I said, inform the company and they will surely refund the £4 overcharge.
