Egg Positive Balance

Hi

I transferred a balance from my Santander CC to my Egg Money CC putting it into a large positive balance. I've since done a BT from my current account to the Egg Money CC and now Egg Money has a positive balance of about £1.50. I didn't want to risk running the Egg card down to a nil balance or possibly a negative balance so as to incur fees when completing the second BT.

Can I start spending on the Egg Money World Mastercard now or do I need to wait for the statement or something to ensure they do not charge me for the from Current account to Egg?

Thanks!

It's been a while since I've been in your situation, but I always used to wait 2-3 days after I'd seen the BT listed in my recent transactions.

Just out of interest, did you make the BT from your current account online from the Egg Money admin area?...or by secure message/phone call?

Can't you check on-line rather than waiting for a statement?

I am intepreting it that you don't want the balance to go negative so you then get charged from the BT.
If that's the case you would be ebt giving it a few days to make sure the BT has completed before you start spending.
But you should be able to monitor this on line rather than waiting for a statement.

    Thanks for replies.

I did the transfer online and I was able to select account details (ie. I did not have to use my linked account).

The BT took about 5 working days to go through from Santander to Egg. In typical Egg fashion the online statement is slow to update. Once BT gone through I did the 2nd BT. My online statement has now updated and is showing a small positive balance of £1.50.

I wasn't sure whether any BT fees would appear on the statement rather than immediately after the transfer. In the case of a chargeable BT, would the fee appear straight away?

Online is not currently showing any fees, I'm just wanting to keep a positive balance to be on the safe side until statement produced.
