Barclaycard Commercial Blunder?

I've had a Commercial Barclaycard (it's actually a charge card) for some time and find it useful to keep track of my business spending. Our limit is £3,000 which we've never exceeded and the monthly direct debit has never bounced.
Imagine my surprise when I received the "As a responsible lender" letter informing me that my credit limit has been reduced to £900.
Off I set to register my dismay and cancel my card (simply because I run a Summer catering business and often go up to £2,000 or so when purchasing stock etc)
I had some problems getting through as there were a "large volume of calls". Turns out the letters were a mistake and credit limit is unaffected.
Hmmm. Wonder what kind of mistake? I see that Barclaycard are taking over EGG and I wonder if someone has used their manual on customer relations before someone with some common sense finds out and halts the process. Would love to know how many letters were sent out and how much "EGG" is on how many faces!!!
