Another plant identifying thread...

I know there's lots of threads but I still have plants in my garden that need identifying.



This one has sharp spiky thorns around it.


This one has gone really straggly but it has really pretty flowers. Any ideas on how to save it?


Think it's daylilies? It's a massive clump that needs splitting.


I think these are japanese anemones.

Have more photos if anyone needs more examples to identify them

First one looks like Hawthorn.

Second one looks like a japanese quince. I have one in my garden and it's lovely, but I've trained it across a fence. Otherwise I think that they are quite hard to get a decent shape out of. They will take some quite hard pruning though.

Not sure about the last two - have to wait and see maybe? Half the fun of a new garden (I assume it's new?)

It's 3 years new. The previous owner had lots of plants and I've just learnt enough weeds to weed them out

I dont know what them lillies are called but I have some and they spread all above place if you let them I keep dividing mine every 2 years and even then they spring up when I do want them via roots

First one def. hawthorn. Think you could be right about the anemones.

re the japenese quince, Misskool,.....you can make a jelly from the little fruits. Its quincey but different. I didn't know that when I last had one, so I've planted one here and hope to plant another in the future. And as you are a fab jelly maker this may well be of interest to you.....:)

I'm not sure any jellies will be made, it was almost chopped down but it started flowering thus saving itself.

I may have to transplant it....

I agree with the poster that said its good against a wall/fence. It becomes a thick trained ''wall cover''.

What ,these are flowers, I have loads of them and thought they were weeds uprooting them daily to get rid of them!
