Contents Insurance from a lodger's perspective

For work, term time, I rent a room in a house with a resident landlady and some other lodgers. I need to sort out contents insurance for the possessions that I keep there. (If this should be on the insurance forum then please do move).
I've tried the online comparison websites but none seem to cope with the concept that I am a lodger. I'm off to see an insurance broker tomorrow but wondered if anyone had been able to find a quote online.
Thanks for reading.

Policies (and insurers) aimed at students should be able to do you a policy. Endsleigh used to such policies when I were a lad.Unless it is damaged or discontinued - ignore any discount of over 25%0

Will have another try with Endsleigh since others have had more success.0

you should try here
most tenant's policies will cope with you being a lodger
BTW Endsleigh sell policies to anyone, not just students
Yep Endsleigh have tenants insurance, might be worth a look, not sure if they cover lodgers to, but go through the form and see. I'm with Endsleigh in my shared house.0 -
Thanks for both of your replies - will keep looking!0

Endlsleigh used to ask for lockable door for a policy. Some owners agreements dont cover lodgers if they have a lock on the door ( go figure)
CIS will allow for lodgers as standard ( well they did about 2 years ago) Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
Thanks folks, it has finally been sorted! I didn't think being a lodger was such hard work!0
