Praise for redspottedhanky.com

I booked train tickets on redspottedhanky.com but in what can only be called wishful thinking, put my railcard in as Young Persons instead of Senior, realised, as you do, as soon as I'd pressed the confirm button. I was really cross with myself thinking it would cost me £10 for each part of the return ticket to change the details, as per their terms and conditions. Sent them an email and they said if I rebooked and then phone a local number they gave me, they'd refund my original purchase. Result, one happy customer who'll certainly use them again.

Thats very good of them to do so.. Mind you at the moment they are bending over backwards with the CS to get themselves known. Hope they can keep this up

Another thing going for them is their booking engine. They use the excellent EastCoast booking engine (developed by GNER before they lost the franchise).

I find this booking engine far easier to use, and it displays far more trains and prices in one go than the woeful and unreliable trainline.com booking engine that most of the train operators and rail websites use.

Oh, and they have no credit card or booking fees. And you can use Tesco clubcard vouchers. I really hope they become a proper competitior to thetrainline.com who seem to have had a monopoly for so long (partly due to their mass advertising, and partly due to public ignorance).

Que ?? What about all the Train Operating Companies - who charge nothing ? AND, if you get a problem you are not dealing with a third party !
