Old Style Diaries!

As a long time (3 years :o) lurker of MSE, I had a brain wave today when thinking about some advice I had picked up from reading here.

I would love there to be a section with Old Style Diaries in, written by every day old stylers on this forum....so those of us that are new to old style living or just trying to get to grips with it all could read the daily exploits of those who are living life the old style way. I would take such joy out of reading an everyday diary telling of what housework was tackled that day and what with...what was put on the table for dinner....e.t.c.. I say I would take joy from this because I am just starting on the path of old style living and to be honest some days I don't have a clue what I am doing and I soooooo want to get organised lol!

I think it would also be a good way for new people to the OS way to record how their days are going and where others could add advice, suggestions and things..

Would anyone else like this? Or am I just nosey? lol

    Hi Spring Time,

    Welcome to MSE :)

We don't tend to have individual diaries on the Old Style board as it's a moneysaving board and if everyone was to start a diary, it would make the moneysaving tips and advice very difficult to find. We do however have a daily thread which is started each day where Old Stylers record their Old Style lives on a daily basis. This is the thread for today: OS Daily 20th April

The place to post diaries at the moment on MSE is the Debt Free Diaries board. Don't be deceived by the name...many of the diaries there are posted by Old Stylers.

If you would like a specific board for Old Style diaries the people to ask are the forum team. You can find their address in my signature or they read the Site Feedback board. Once you've had more input from the Old Stylers I'll move your thread over there so the team are more likely to see it.

Good luck with your venture into Old Styling. :)

Thank you for your lovely reply. I did not think about all the tips being hard to find if they were all in individual diaries..that's a very good point!

    Thank you again :)

(I had to edit your post when I quoted it because of the links and myself being new to posting :o )

    Hi again, Spring Time

Sorry. I was trying to get tea on the table while replying to you :o so I forgot to mention that the Daily thread has lots of lovely posters who will be very welcoming if you would like to join in. Newbies and Oldies alike post there and everyone is made welcome and offered support if they need it. :)

There is also a good thread here that has many links to other threads that may help:

Tips and Quick Questions on “How To Start Being Old Style”

Just remember not to try to make too many changes to your lifestyle at once or you risk burning yourself out.

    Good luck!

    Pink
