Please help

can somebody please tell me if im entitled to free prescriptions,dental help and,free eye tests,because DWP say im not.I am currently in receipt of Incap,because I have not been assessed as yet for the new system of ESA.Every person I know,is entitled to free prescriptions,eye tests etc etc.I also have to pay some portion of my council rent and,council tax.DWP say im getting what im entitled to as im on the higher rate of benefit,£199.40 per fortnight.I really struggle as it is as I have mental health problems and the struggle trying to pay bills prescriptions etc is making things worse.In the snow last and this year I was not entitled to cold weather payments whereas JSA claimants were,This resulted in me quite literrally burning old furniture in an open fire,made possible by me removing the gas fire to expose the open fire.I had to get crisis loans as I never got cold weather payments,making even more hardship for myself.I could go on but im rambling,but pleasr,please could someone help me with this,DWP really dont care,Thanks.

Then you don't know anyone else on IB? The DWP are correct, those solely on IB are not entitled to free prescriptions. However, you may qualify through the NHS Low Income Scheme. Google it.

Do you receive DLA, and if so at what rate? Do you live alone?

It is not for the DWP to 'care', they have given you the correct information.

I have been on IB for some time and have always had to pay for eye tests, dentistry and all precsription charges.

You can't really compare your incomings to those on JSA - you're complaining that JSA recipients get free prescriptions, but they also get quite a bit less in benefit each week than you are getting. If you don't qualify on the low income scheme, then maybe look into the prepaid prescriptions - think it's about £50 per year or something, but well worth the money if you are having to get new prescriptions regularly.

A prepayment is £100 and its payable in instalments of £10 per month for the first 10 months out of the 12 covered byt the certificate but it only covers prescriptions.

I havent renewed this year yet but it hasnt gone up for a few now.

IB and DLA are not income related benefits so don't give you an automatic entitlement to free prescriptions.
