Uninsured Driver

Quick question:
A driver had an accident that only involved themselves- and subsequently cancelled their insurance from a week before the accident.
Is there a way of getting their insurance company to pay Third Party Damages? Like indemnify (even a word) them? Not to sure on it.
Thanks

Your question is not clear to me.
If the accident only involved themselves then there is no 3rd party.
Can you clarify a bit more?0 -
This is the bit I'm struggling with:and subsequently cancelled their insurance from a week before the accident.
You mean like a backdated cancellation? I didn't think this was possible unless there is a very good reason (i.e. broker renewed in error and you have proof that you have taken insurance elsewhere). Also, why would you backdate the cancellation to before the accident (if possible).
I don't understand this either:A driver had an accident that only involved themselves-......Is there a way of getting their insurance company to pay Third Party Damages?
On second thoughts, not a single sentence makes sense. Please clarify.0 -
I understand the question as
insurance was cancelled a week before a accident, is there a way to get the insurance to pay for the damages to the third party.
This depends on how and why the insurance was cancelled.0 -

This depends on how and why the insurance was cancelled.
That makes sense.
Except OP stated that only the driver was involved (i.e. there doesn't appear to be an TP damages)0 -
OP: if that understanding is correct, why on earth would an insurer cover for anything if the policy was cancelled a week earlier...0
