Cedrus deodara advice

Options
Hello

I have a small Cedrus deodara in the corner of my garden which is about 12 feet tall.I was just wondering if it is ok to cut the branches back to the tree to a height of about 2 feet ,just to make it safer for my toddler who likes to walk round it ,and also as the branches are pushing against a neighbours fence. The branches higher then two feet off the ground will be left to sweep over .Thanks for any advice.

If you mean just remove the lower branches so they dont hit small person, then yes you can do it but ideally not right now.
The sap is rising and trees bleed, but you can get a sealer for them at a garden centre.
But given the choice between, a small person visiting A & E or the tree small persons needs win;)

I may wait before removing the lower branches.im guess ing that the end of summer would be the best time to remove them.Is this right .
