Nottingham BS is also offering a 5% one.0 -
According to
https://www.emoneyfacts.co.uk/news/savings-news.aspx?newsarticleid=204688
the 3.5% loyalty ISA will be withdrawn on 3rd May.0 -
1. 20 days loss of interest
2. Rate may not be available in 20 days time
3. Waste of time visiting branch twice
As an existing customer I should be able to open an account instantly, online, as I have done with several other banks. Even the Halifax does it better!
Yep, have to say in my experience that the Halifax are better!
I'm an existing Halifax customer with online banking. Online ISA application took minutes and they've paid me the correct interest.
Applied for a Santander ISA for this years' allocation on 24th March. Had to re-apply in branch on 6th April (managed to find a helpful advisor who took pity on me and applied online, on my behalf), as they'd somehow managed to cancel it (no reason given). Finally got my cashcard on 15th April (need card number for online banking). Registered separately for online banking and received personal ID and passcode today. Got to wait for registration number before I can actually register!!!! Finally, once I've registered, I might actually manage to pay in £400 from an internet account, so I can make use of the 3.3% rate!!!! Perhaps money could be in the account by May!!

I tried to open a Loyalty Flexible ISA with Santander in branch on Monday, but was told I would have to make an appointment. So I tried the phone option that evening - two lots of hanging on the phone for 10 mins - too busy, so I gave up. Tried again the following morning and was able to open the ISA within minutes - very easy indeed. Santander just need to get some more people at the other end of the phone lines and have a bit more flexibility in branch. As another poster says, why on earth couldn't it be opened online - it's for current customers only!:cool:0

Santander's website now says "Hurry! To apply please visit your local branch by the 30th April"
It still doesn't mention the need to make an appointment, nor does it mention a 20 day wait for appointments some branches. Perhaps I'll stage a one person sit-in at the local branch on Tuesday.
Any suggestions for suitable slogans for a sandwich board?0 -
If you walk into branch with a passport or driving license, and your cheque book at hand, and ask very nicely for a paper application, and are prepared to sit at a desk or pop back with it filled out 10 minutes later, most branches will be happy to do that.
Although it sounds bizarre, try a smaller branch as they tend to be more focused on customer service than the city centre jobbies.0 -
Went to make an appointment this morning to open a new isa, I am an existing customer with both mortgage and investment accounts. I said I need a saturday appointment , earliest they can do is the 4 th of june !!!!
I walked out saying I'd go to a real bank!!!!
Complete set of idiots , my mortgage finishes with the m in about 2 weeks and I am determined to go elsewhere for banking and saving , who else is there any good????0 -

My nearest branch is one of the smaller ones. The cashier suggested visiting a larger branch because there might be more staff available to deal with ISAs0
