How do I know if the P60 is correct?

Hi,

Does anyone know how I can check if my P60 has been issued correctly?

I was paid hourly, had two employers in one tax year and didn't have an income for 2 months between those two jobs (didn't receive job seekers allowance either).

Both employers stated different tax codes, the first employer issued the P60 for just 5 days of the tax year (job ended then), so I don't know how much of a difference that makes.

Is it just a case of adding up the gross pay on all pay slips and that would be the same amount as stated on the P60?
Same for income tax?
Does the tax on the P60 include NI?

Would those 2 months without income be of advantage when it comes to possibly being eligible for a tax rebate?

Thank you for any advice you can give, I am so hopeless when it comes to these kind of things.

Yes, minus any tax deductible deductions from your pay for instance pension contributions.

It should state tax and NI deducted.

Maybe - depends on a number of things eg tax code, tax band etc.

Thanks. No, on my P60s it just says "tax deducted". It doesn't mention whether it is income tax only or incl. NI.

It'll just be tax, not NI.
