Cheap Landline?

Morning One and All,
I really begrudge paying for 'line rental' although it is a necessity for the broadband and the occasional 0845/0870 number. Who offers the cheapest landline with which I can have a different provider for my broadband? I have seen Primus for a 'line rental' for £6 and some pennies but I've also seen the feedback in relation the them. So Primus are defiantly out of the question.
I don't have (or want) $ky... I like to keep my monthly out goings to an absolute minimum. $ky TV and Virgin is something I happily live without.

If it wasn't for the mistakes I made in the past (and learned from), I wouldn't be who and where I am today. It doesn't matter if you've cocked up, what matters is that you put it right and apologise. x

Are you on benefits? BT Basic is the cheapest.:footie:
Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

Just looked at the BT basic, I can't get it. Which is a shame as that is exactly the sort of thing that would suit me down to the ground. If it wasn't for the mistakes I made in the past (and learned from), I wouldn't be who and where I am today. It might be worth checking out Plusnet , we got nowhere trying to get basics from BT and although its dearer if you pay for router theres no contract and over the 12 months if you get the 3 free net months by getting an existing member to refer you it works out cheap with free eve weekends calls .
We changed and Ive also refered whole family / freinds for the 3 free months etc and they have been happy , they are BT after all
just chose the largest net for your free months and then drop it to cheaper package when you start paying if its enough , some make the mistake of chosing cheapest net for free months when you can change it after:T0
